Research Profile
Dr. Jeremy Burton currently holds the Miriam Burnett Chair in Urological Sciences within the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery and is cross appointed to the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Western University. His interests include; how the microbiome influences urological conditions (kidney stones, cancer, infection and overactive bladder) and what impacts the microbiota, such as diet, pharmaceuticals, biomaterials, fermented food, probiotics, faecal transplant treatment and the use of antibiotics. His entire research career has focused upon the relationship of commensal bacteria to human health.
